The PokerStars and Full Tilt brands are continuing to consolidate their global base. On Friday the new owners of PokerStars and Full Tilt Brands, Amaya gaming announced that the UK Gambling Commission had granted them a continuation licenses to operate in the United Kingdom.
In a statement from Amaya Gaming they said the UK Gambling Commission had granted them the continuation license in recognition of their existing licenses which are held in the Isle of Man.
In practice this means that there will be no disruptions for UK players both on the PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker websites. A company spokesperson went on to explain that both Full Tilt and PokerStars were classified as a “whit e listed” company which was allowed to operate in the UK based on their Isle of Man licensing agreement. In addition Amaya’s B2B online business have obtained the required continuation licenses which will enable them to continue supplying UK based online gaming operators utilizing Amaya’s online technology and gaming content.
Amaya acquired the Rational Group which owned and operated PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker earlier this year for a record $4.9 billion. PokerStars and Full Tilt are continuously adding to their industry- leading portfolio of 12 locally licensed jurisdictions which include Italy, France and Spain. The US is of course a major part of their expansion plans after years of them being persona non grata.
