Twitter IPO Has Gamblers Guessing Valuation
Given the chance punters will gamble on just about anything. This was evident with the birth of the Royal baby of Prince William which generated millions with people gambling on anything from the sex to the exact exact birth date.
Another big event causing much hype and interest in the global gambling world is that of the IPO launch of Twitter which is set to take place in the coming months. Already there are gamblers speculating on the exact amount Twitter will be floated at. The social media site is expected to obtain a floating market capitalization of around $10 billion according to experts.
However wherever there is an uncertain factor gamblers will spend big in order to win. The Irish gambling site Paddy Power has been giving interesting odds as to the estimated value of the IPO. Odds of 6-to-4 of Twitter ending its first day with a public market value on between $15 and $20 billion as of Friday.
While the volume of bets is still pretty limited with only dozens of gamblers betting more than 800 euros. Paddy Power is limited in taking bets from the United States and primarily takes bets from the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia. Paddy Power have over 4,000 employees which includes a dedicated research division whose job it is to assess the risks and logical parameters for Twitter’s first day value.
