Record Online Gambling Revenues For New Jersey In January
The upward swing continues for the state of New Jersey as their online gambling revenues continue to rise and break records. Although still way below initial forecasts, the online gambling market in the Garden State has recorded a record $14.6 million in revenue for the month of January. This is a 26% increase year-on-year and breaks the previous month’s record of $14 million in December.
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) did however point out that the overall gaming win for New Jersey was down 3.8% year-on-year to $190.1 million. The worst performing sector was table games with revenues down 13.1 percent to $52.8 million. Slot machines also took a tumble of 2.1% to $122.9million.
The state of New Jersey has seen four of their state casinos close down in the last year which has resulted in the remaining casinos revenues increasing in many cases. According to the NJDGE overall online gaming revenue in 2015 was up 21% to $148.8 million compared to the end of December 2014.
