Realistic Games Obtain Early Licence Under New UK Gambling Act
The UK online gambling operators are having to cope with a new Gambling Act which was passed earlier this year and is set to come into play in October 14. In terms of the new law remote gambling operators that offer services to British consumers will have to obtain a UK license. In addition as from January 2015 these remote gambling operators will also require their suppliers to be licensed in the UK.
One of the first producers of table and slots games to receive a license is that of Realistic Games. The commercial director of Andy Harris was chuffed at the news as he is confident this will ease the company’s headaches with the new regulations, He said,” There are many things for our customers to attend to as a result of the introduction of the Act, so getting our licensing in place early gives them one less thing to worry about. Furthermore, we hope that it provides potential customers with another positive reason to choose Realistic Games as a new supplier partner.”
Harris was quick to point out the advantages of obtaining a license early as it will prevent last minute rush to comply,” This license represents a significant step for us. We’ve worked closely with the Gambling Commission throughout the application process and have now passed the most stringent tests of probity and due diligence.”
The new Gambling Act is just one of many additional headaches facing UK bookmakers who are already preparing to feel the crackdown on fixed odds betting terminals which are set to be taxed heavier.
