Playtika Continue To Dominate Social Casino Publishers Leaderboard
Social casino gaming has become an integral part of both the gambling world and the gaming worlds. Besides being a multi-billion dollar industry many traditional gamers enjoy free-to-play casino games. In fact many of the top grossing apps on the Apple Store and Google Play are casino related.
When it comes to mobile social casino publishers dominate the leader boards. Last year we covered the report from Market research from Eilers Research in which the top social casino publishers were highlighted. These findings are being confirmed by new data from analyst Distimo who conducted research on a seven day period from March 17-23.Their findings confirm that all the top 20 publishers in the App Store featured a least one casino title in their gaming portfolio. When it came to the Google Paly, 19 of the top 100 publishers featured a social casino game in their portfolio.
These numbers only confirm the trend of free-to-play casino based games becoming an extension of traditional gaming. The stigma of casino related content is a thing of the past.
The leaderboard in the social casino category remains the same as we reported in last year. Caesars gaming subsidiary Playtika remains at the top spot with a market share of 21 and 22 percent on the App Store and Google Paly respectively. Playtika continue to grow and currently have over 5 million daily active users playing their Slotomania. The second biggest player is Big Fish Games who account for second place with 16 and 9 percent respectively in the App Store and Google Play leaderboard.
Zynga was is in third place with a 12 and 9 percent respective market share in the App Store and Google Play. IGT with its DoubleDown Casino came in next with 11 and 9 percent respectively.
Gambling companies like Caesars and IGT will continue to invest millions of dollars in their social gaming subsidiaries as research shows that given the chance many social casino gamers would try the real thing.
