New Jersey Gambling Revenues Get Off To Good Start in 2017
The state of New Jersey continues to show positive signs with the latest online and land based figures for gambling revenues released by the New Jersey DGE.
Both sectors recorded a year-on-year increase for the month of January. Online gambling revenues were up to $18.8 million which was an increase of 28.6% from the $14.6m in January 2016. Land based casino revenues were positive as well and generated $185.9 million which was an increase of 5.9% from the $175.5 million in January 2016. Total gaming in the Garden State for January rose 7.7% or the month of January with total gaming win reaching $204.7 million compared to the $190.1 million in January 2016.
All seven state casinos posted increases in revenues led by Caesars which was up more than 41 percent to $28.2 million. These figures are a much needed relief for the state as five of its twelve casinos have shut down since 2014.
