MGM Resorts Extends easyPLAY Tournaments Throughout Nevada State
We reported back in July on MGM Resorts partnership with oneLIVE and their easyPLAY mobile casino offering aimed at attracting younger audiences. At the time guests at MGM properties in Las Vegas were able to engage in tournaments on their personal devices that included slots, bingo and video poker. This has now been expanded to allow anyone over the age of 21 within Nevada’s borders to join.
CEO of oneLIVE the developer of easyPLAY Michael Jabara said that the expansion was due to the success of the rollout at MGM properties. easyPLAY’s tournaments only allow players to compete with the rest of the field in a tournament where they pay an entry fee, players are still not allowed to play against the house ‘s slots of video poker machines.
Prize pools for easyPLAY tournaments range from $50 to $1000. In order to register there is a straight forward funding method via a credit card or PayPal. Geolocation determines if players are inside the state of Nevada for real money and age verification is done via a third party. When outside of Nevada easyPLAY users can enter tournaments without cash prizes.
Jabara commented on the strict regulations required,” oneLIVE is always careful to insure that all of our offerings to the public meet the laws and regulations in each jurisdiction, including Nevada. “As you can imagine, that involves significant legal, technical and operational analysis, development and deployment.”
Commenting on the expansion of oneLIVE Jabra said,” Speaking only for ourselves, oneLIVE is extremely happy with our partnership with our first customer, MGM Resorts. It has been a terrific experience working with such forward-thinking professionals. They truly want to drive this very traditional industry forward toward mobile and other attractions for the next generation of players.”
