Forfar Woman Wins Lottery Just Months Before Retiring
Better late than never to win a lottery jackpot. For 65 year old Janette Robertson from Forfar her planned retirement is set to be a lot more pleasant after she won £1 million in the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle on July 26.
With her win she and her husband are officially retired and plan on a holiday with her children and grandchildren. Robertson worked for 18 years in Hampton’s newsagents and could not believe her luck when checking the raffle code at the start of her shift the following day after the lotto draw. After her boss printed out the lucky numbers she checked her ticket to see if there was a match. To her disbelief and that of her boss Ian she had to read her numbers a few times to confirm the fortunate jackpot win.
Robertson was one of 100 lucky winners in the EuroMillions raffle draw with each person winning a million. She expressed her delight at her lucky win saying,” Winning has given me the independence to really enjoy my retirement. But I still buy my tickets every week, although when I go to the shop to put them on, they joke that they’re not going to put them through as I’ve already won.”
