FanDuel Joins The Internet Association
Daily fantasy sports companies like FanDuel and DraftKings have become major players in the online world with expectations for substantial growth in the coming years. These two companies have changed the way we look at fantasy sports as they both offer real money cash prizes and enable legal gambling on daily competitions.
We reported recently that both these two giants have received backing form companies like Walt Disney who invested $250 million in DraftKings alone. FanDuel is the largest single-day online fantasy sport betting player and has made another move that shows they are a force to be reckoned with.
FanDuel announced that they will be joining the Internet Association which is a trade group that represents technology powerhouses like Google, Yahoo and Facebook. FanDuel’s CEO explained the significance of the move,” As FanDuel continues to grow and redefine how sports fans play fantasy sports on the Internet, it was critical that we joined the Internet Association to participate and engage on important policy issues affecting Internet companies.”
Internet Association President Michael Beckerman gave their side of the addition of FanDuel,” FanDuel’s perspective will be a great asset as we continue to work together to advocate for pro-Internet policies that foster economic growth and empower users.”
