Boston based Fantasy sports giant DraftKings have extended their 2013 partnership with the Major League Baseball. In terms of the agreement DraftKings will become the MLB’s official daily fantasy game and will see their brand displayed on co-branded MLB fantasy games.
DraftKings will promote their daily fantasy baseball games across the MLB TV and its live streaming service as well as the MLB’s mobile apps like MLB.com and MLB network. CEO and Co-Founder of DratKings Jason Robins commented on the new extended partnership,” Two years ago, MLB and DraftKings signed the first league deal in daily fantasy history, and we are excited to deepen that ground-breaking relationship through this new, league wide, exclusive partnership. MLB has long been at the forefront of embracing new technologies to create superior fan experiences, and DraftKings couldn’t be happier to partner to continue that tradition of innovation.”
EVP of MLBA, Kenny Gersh gave their side of the deal,” Expanding our exclusive partnership with DraftKings will bring new and exciting ways for fans, particularly younger fans, to play daily fantasy baseball. DraftKings has established itself as a trusted leader through a high quality fan experience in a rapidly changing space and we are happy to continue to have them on board.”
Baseball has been a growth sector for DraftKings as the number of active players in the MLB skill competitions has increased eightfold in the last year.
