Amaya Benefiting From Woes Of DraftKings And FanDuel

The ongoing scandal hitting the two major powerhouses in the DFS sector, DraftKings and FanDuel has got some hinting to conspiracy theories. While only a few months ago no one outside the industry would have doubted the monopoly DraftKings and FanDuel have on this lucrative sector, the recent developments have change that.

Cynics amongst us are pointing the the major new DFS player, Amaya with their StarsDraft now seem to be the big winners from the troubles of DraftKings and FanDuel. It has even been suggested that the leaking of the information of the DraftKings employee Ethan Haskell gaining insider information might have come from “interested parties” who have a lot to gain should the powerhouses in this sector continue to be undermined.

In another somewhat bizarre publicity move Amaya released a statement today regarding the lack of regulation in the DFS sector. Before giving more information on this the irony of Amaya who won PokerStars preaching about regulations has to be pointed out.

In their statement Amaya went on to say that due to the recent scandals involving DraftKings and FanDuel the current self-regulatory practices adopted by the DFS companies are not sufficient and the industry needs stricter state regulation.

The statement went on to say, ”Amaya and StarsDraft fully support, and are launching active efforts to work with state regulators to enact legislation regarding, the adoption of state regulations that safeguard players and the implementation of related controls to ensure all operators are held to a high standard of consumer protection and business integrity.”

Going even further Amaya pointed out their long history or working responsibly with regulators around the globe. They also claim to have implemented policies aimed at restricting access of sensitive data to employees as well as suspending any employee participation in competitor DFS contests.
